Mobile Advertising Campaign from India Wins Big Internationally

Mumbai, November 15, 2007: Reliance Communications mobile ad campaign' Fair & Lovely' Scholarship Programme 2007 has been adjudged winner by the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) Annual Global Awards jury at a glittering ceremony held in Los Angeles last night. The innovative mobile ad campaign has been voted as the "Best Use of Mobile Marketing" in the Direct Response Category of the awards. This is also the first time in the world that a scholarship programme has been advertised on a mobile platform

Reliance Communications has been at the forefront of Mobile Advertising in India & pioneered this medium in India by working with brands like LG during the 2003 World Cup which today has the distinction of having showcased over 40 top brands in India spanning across FMCG, Financial Services, and Durables including Automobiles & IT on Reliance Mobile Phones.

The Fair & Lovely Scholarship Programme 2007 advertised on Reliance Mobile World (R World) during the period August 14 - September 17, 2007, received tremendous response as over 45,000 women applied for the scholarships! With the objective of creating awareness about the programme and generate leads of potential women candidates in a cost effective manner.

"Our latest success puts Reliance as well as India once again on the global mobile advertising platform. Mobile advertising on Reliance Platform is being used effectively to generate sales leads as well as conduct quick market research" Mr. Prasad added.

MMA, the US-based representative of mobile marketing industry, currently has more than 450 member companies, representing over forty (40) countries from across the mobile marketing value chain and the globe. For this year's award, the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) received over 250 submissions; more than double that of last year from top notch companies across the world.

About Fair & Lovely Scholarship

The Fair & Lovely scholarships are awarded annually to deserving young girls who intend to pursue higher education in India leading to Graduation, Post-Graduation and PhD. Awarded by the Fair & Lovely Foundation, the Rs 100,000 (US $ 2500) scholarship is meant for women 'with an aptitude and ambition to achieve their goals'. This Scholarship was instituted 5 years ago with the objective of enabling economic empowerment to Indian women by Hindustan Unilever Limited. Over 300 women across India have been awarded scholarships through this programme. The scholarship winners of this year's campaign will be announced by the year end.
