Reliance Power announces Q1 net profit of Rs 263.31 crore

Mumbai, July 29, 2009: Reliance Power Limited, a Reliance ADA Group company, today announced its un-audited financial results for the first quarter of the financial year 2009-10. The performance highlights are:
- Total Income of Rs 335.51 crore(US$ 54.97 million)
- Net Profit of Rs 263.31 crore(US$ 70.04 million)
- Cash & Liquid Balances of Rs 9585.39 crore(US$ 2 billion)
Updates on the power projects being developed by Reliance Power - Milestones achieved in Q1 FY09-10.
- Financial closure has been achieved for a total generation capacity of close to 5,000 MW involving a capital outlay of over Rs 25,000 crores.
- 4,000 MW Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project has achieved financial closure in April 2009 at a Debt-Equity Ratio of 75:25.
- 600 MW Rosa Phase II and 300 MW Butibori have achieved financial closure in July 2009 at a Debt:Equity Ratio of 80:20.
- The capacity at Butibori Power Plant is being expanded by another 300 MW and the project is targeted for commissioning by March 2012.
- Work on the 600 MW Rosa Phase I project is ahead of schedule and is expected to start operations by the end of this year. Significant progress has also been made in development of the 600 MW Rosa Phase II and the plant is expected to be commissioned before the end of the 11th Plan i.e. March 2012.
- Progress is being made in the land acquisition process, obtaining of Environmental Clearance and water linkage to help commence construction of the 4,000 MW Chitrangi Power Project at the earliest.
